Seit Anfang der 1970er Jahre veräußert die Stadt Landsberg am Lech städtische Baugrundstücke im Rahmen des Einheimischen-Modells. Damit unterstützt die Stadt einkommensschwächere Bürger und kinderreiche Familien bei der Schaffung ihrer eigenen vier Wände. Mehrere hundert preisgünstige Grundstücke wurden bisher nach dem Einheimischen-Modell vergeben.
Die Antragsberechtigung für das Einheimischenmodell orientiert sich an den allgemeinen Vergaberichtlinien.
